1Two buzzards flew in circles
Above a cobalt-grey sky
Patiently going about their day
Waiting for the lusty emperor’s last breath.
Three buzzards wearing black
Joined the two from the day before
Empty bellies, crying hunger
Waiting for the lusty emperor’s last breath.
His empire sank into the sea
He gambled it all on Honey Sweet
Her name becomes irrelevant
As the lusty emperor takes his one last breath.
A murder of crows announced his demise
Giving the green light to the buzzards, Hyenas and Wild Hogs.
Hunger feeds on the remains of the once great emperor.
Dandelions, Orchids and Sunflowers
Grow, thrive. Offer happiness and joy on the very spot
Where the lusty emperor took his one last breath.
Poem from the upcoming poetry collection Love Birds on a Live Wire.
